The ‘modern day’ picture comes to us by way of Google Maps and shows the Lui Rose Chinese Restaurant on the left – a local time-capsule itself (you should see inside). Just to the left (on the northern side ofCorreys Ave. is Strathfield North Public School, and to the right is the Concord Presbyterian Church.

If driving south on Concord Rd you’ll now see towering units in the Rhodes area – something that was unthinkable back in 1947.
