How to Link to a ‘Grouped’ Lender Video Modal

In an FAQ titled How to Define and Send Lender-Specific Videos for the Lenders Archive and Product Pages we looked at how to assign videos to the Lender Product Archive and Pages on your website. Familiarity with the former module is required, as this FAQ will simply show you how to link directly to a video that was assigned to a specific lender in that modules.

Confused yet? This feature is one of those hidden features that generally isn't exposed because it can be complicated. However, when we manage client websites we'll use it all the time.

Lender Modals: The video modal has virtually nothing in common with the Lender Modal introduced in an FAQ titled "How to Create Lender Modals for the Lender Archive and Product Pages". This modal is used to extends the Lender Archive Videos module by referencing the video in a modal rather than on a specific Lender page.

Video Modal: See the related FAQ titled "How to Create Website Link to a Video Modal". The article describes how to create a trackable video modal, and an untracked full-screen modal.

  The Result

The result of our modal shortcode is simply a modal that contains a video associated with a defined lender. For example, [link video="cba"]this link[/link] will return the video currently assigned to the Commonwealth Bank , and [link video="anz"]this link[/link] will return the video currently assigned to ANZ .

In short, the lender three-letter code is used in place of an actual video within the [video] shortcode to return an ;assigned' video modal.

Quick Review of the Lender Archive Videos

In the Leander Archive module, we defined groups of lenders that had an assigned video. This meant that those website visitors browsing your website lender data associated with a specific lender would be shown a video that was part of a defined lender group . While each lender might have its own video (and some of them will), it is more common to assign a single video to multiple lenders simply for the purpose of leveraging your time. When a user visits the lender archive or product pages, that assigned video is shown  (again, shown on the Lenders Archive page and their children Product Pages ).

To be clear, the Lender Archive Videos are static in nature, and assigned to pages based on the resolved lender. They may be updated individually or part of a group from within Yabber.

  Lender Video Shortcode

We've assigned a large number of lenders to each of these groups, so each of the videos may be returned by lender. For example, [link video="anz"]this link[/link] will return the video currently assigned to ANZ .

Standard Video Shortcode: If this shortcode looks familiar, it's because it is virtually identical to the standard video modal shortcode [link video="zf1MytwD8dg"]as follows[/link], producing a similar modal video . The difference with our grouped lender modal is that we're using a three-letter lender code.

The purpose of this link is to support an architecture that evolves based on those definitions applied in Yabber. One change in Yabber will make global changes, and the links created on your website won't be obsolete or expire.

  Video Modal Settings

Video modal settings are introduced in the FAQ on "How to Create Website Link to a Video Modal". Generally speaking, the settings permits you to alter the width, background colour, and apply 'free text' above all videos.

Lender Video Modal Settings

Pictured: Video modal settings are introduced in the FAQ on "How to Create Website Link to a Video Modal". Generally speaking, the settings permits you to alter the width, background colour, and apply 'free text' above all videos.

Video modal settings are found within the Modal module by clicking the 'Settings' icon.

  Video Modal Statistics

Detailed in the FAQ titled "How to Create Website Link to a Video Modal", all video modals are tracked to the user level, so each and every modal click interaction is recorded and evaluated for the purpose of strengthening our understanding of a website user. This resolve is then applied as part of the Conditional Content module.
