How to Manage the Front Page Rate Ribbon

There's a Rate Ribbon on the front page of your website below the centre-fold block that presents the lowest rates of various types. The purpose of the ribbon is to position yourself as a broker, showcase your digital expertise, and create early funnel pathways. Each rate shown in the ribbon links to the relevant lender product page that details the LVR criteria, LMI conditions, eligibility, limited lender policy, and so on.

The Rate Ribbon may be used anywhere with the single shortcode of [bm_lowest_rates], and is a good feature to use as a style of page-break. The result on your front page is as follows.

  Shortcode Attributes

A number of shortcode attributes will alter the presentation of the Ribbon, and these may be necessary if you use the feature in other locations. Various attributes are provided for tooltip background colour, but these are generally not used.

sort_on_lowest

Determines if the Lowest Rates show in the ribbon are sorted on the lowest comparison rate or published rate. The default is interest. To sort on comparison, use sort_on_lowest="comparison".

include_banks

By default the Ribbon will show results measured against your defined accredited lenders. To limit the results to a group of selected lenders, or even a selected lender, defined them in a comma delimited string. For example,include_banks="cba,stg,nab,wba" will only return results for Combank, St. George, NAB, and Westpac. For a list of lender codes you should reference Yabber or the Lender Data API FAQ.

uniquebanks

The uniquebanks attribute is set to 'yes' by default, meaning that the same lender isn't repeated twice. To disable the filter, use uniquebanks="no".

Stylistic options will be added when requested.

The background colour behind the rates is set in Elementor. In our case we apply a background of #DEDEDE by default (grey). Alter if required .

  Removing or Editing the Rate Ribbon

The ribbon has proven itself to be an effective funnel filter, so it's likely you'll be adding them to various locations rather than removing them. However, you may disable in Elementor by editing the front page and simply removing the entire shortcode block.
