How to Send Social Media Content to Your Searchable Website Social Archive

The notion that you'll create social media content to various networks and effectively hand over ownership is a little absurd. All your social posts sent from any of our systems - such as Yabber, Instagratify, or Vista - are all optionally sent back to your website into a fully hashtag-searchable archive. This give your website SEO value, adds an additional funnel asset, and more importantly, gives you complete ownership of your social content. We'd argue that any website service that doesn't provide this feature is lacking the single most important social feature you can introduce to your operation.

Each social post you send to your website is created as a full standalone article in a dedicated social archive. Images and other media are sent to your WordPress media library, so all your social assets are reference locally.

Framework Version: All website frameworks after version 1.8 will support the Social Archive, but version 3.2 is required before the hashtag search functionality becomes active. Many sites were updated without notice, so you should review your own website before using the feature. If required, contact us for an update.

Website Social Media Featured Images: Already running your Social Archive and looking to manage the featured image? Review the advanced FAQ titled "How to Manage and Alter the Featured Image in Your Website Social Archive".

  The Result

We'll start by having a look at the Social Archive on our website, and a single social social post which includes a single image.

Website Social Archive

Pictured: The social archive is presented in a manner that isn't entirely dissimilar to your blog. As with every page there's a location panel at the top of the page, although this may be relocated elsewhere if required.

Each social post links to a page with a single social post.

Website Social Post

Pictured: The single social post includes the full content of the original Instagratify or Vista social content. As with every page on your website, a location form is shown below all article content.

Each post includes a header with the hashtags from your social post . Selecting any hashtag returns those articles that share the same hashtag. A user may search via the search bar as an alternative.

Website Social Hashtag Search

Pictured: Use consistent and relevant hashtags in your social content in order to connect all your social articles via the 'Social Hashtag' on your website.

The hashtag is a registered taxonomy  type in WordPress, so your Social Archive really does take shape as a standalone social resource.

  Creating the Website Archive Filter

To send content to your social archive via any Yabber social system (including Instagratify, Vista, or Yabber), you should define a rule in Yabber that'll filter your social content based on a defined hashtag. As an example, our #beliefmedia hashtag will always send whatever content we've created to our archive. This rule was created in Yabber. There are times where we'd like to send content to our archive and nowhere else, and to that end, we've defined another hashtag filter as #bmwp.

As an example, our #beliefmedia hashtag will always send whatever content we've created to our archive.

Now the filter is defined, whenever found in an Instagram, Vista, or other post, it will send to our website.

Website Social Instagram Post

Pictured: Now the filter is defined, whenever found in an Instagram, Vista, or other post, it will send to our website. Note the @beliefmedia hashtag in the Instagram post[/LINK] (indicated by the arrow).

You may send your social content to multiple websites. The multiple websites becomes important if you operate multiple brands, support more than one website, or choose to use a standalone website that accepts content from multiple broker sources.

  The Post Title

The WordPress Social Post Title is defined in our Instagram Post by way of shortcode in the following format: [title: This is My Title]. If absent, a generic title is created for you. The Instagratify markup (used in the example) is discussed in an article introducing the Instagratify module. If Vista is used (the Outlook-based scheduling tool), the title in the Calendar entry is used as the post title.

You won't want the post title shortcode or hashtags sent in your post content, so a break-point is established in your post content by way of the space-dot-dot-space pattern. If using Vista, the hashtags are included in the Calendar 'Location' field so the break isn't required.

  Use Hashtags Carefully

It's easy to get sucked into using nonsense hashtags on Instagram or elsewhere, so it's not uncommon to see nonsensical tags that are #instastupid. Avoid these. Your social hashtags will be registered to your website as a searchable resource, so try and manufacture tags that'll provide for a friendly and meaningful website experience, and then continue to be consistent with tag usage over time.

Yabber's Social Media modules are very extensive. Some of the social features, systems, and modules, are shown below.

We've shared FAQs that showed you how to create Wistia video customisations, sharing profiles, turnstiles, and postroll CTA profiles (all linked below). This FAQ will show you how to update an individual video or all videos that are part of a project.

  About Wistia

Wistia is a third-party service that provides videos hosting for a monthly subscription. It is quite costly, but the platform does provide for three free videos and we encourage all our users to sign up for this offer.

Wistia provides a large number of integrated video features that enable far greater insights into video performance when compared to platforms such as YouTube, and the level of statistical data returned for each user is significant.

Yabber integrates with Wistia in such a way that we effectively emulate most features of that service. This tight level of connectivity enables features such as the email collection turnstiles (or email capture form 'gates' within a video) to be used for engagement and not just consumption.

This FAQ should be read in company with those listed below since when you're updating a video you'll generally update all of the profiles shown at the same time.

Wistia features may be referenced under this article in the 'Related FAQ' section.

Wistia: You may sign up for a free account on Wistia at Wistia.com . Ensure you follow the FAQ on connecting the API and Webhooks to fully enable all of Yabbers features.

Wistia Source - Yabber/Wistia or Elementor

In a previous FAQ we detailed how to apply customisations to an embedded Wistia Video. In order for Yabber and/or Wistia options to override the values defined in Elementor, you should navigate your way to the 'Settings' panel and define your preferred source via the 'Website' option.

Elementor or Wistia

Pictured: In order for Yabber and/or Wistia options to override the values defined in Elementor, you should navigate your way to the 'Settings' panel and define your preferred source via the 'Website' option. Using the Elementor option is one that is typically used by those that do no subscribe to Yabber in any way.

If the source is set to 'Elementor', all Yabber and Wistia options are ignored, and if set to Yabber, all Elementor options are ignored.

Using Yabber profiles and options are obviously preferred since you may globally update all videos as required, and options can be applied without messing around within your website.
